Tennis Competitions
Would you like to play competition tennis?
Keirle Park Tennis Centre offers competitions that cater for players of many levels. The only pre-requisite is that you can serve and rally.
If you have not played comp at Keirle Park before, your grade will need to be assessed by one of our coaches. Or, if are not sure whether or not competition tennis is right for you, it is best to have a private coaching session, so you can be assessed. Please make sure you book in for a lesson at least a week before the entries close.
Comps run throughout the year, with registration closing about two weeks before each comp starts. Our registration form below outlines prices, deadlines, and formats for all of the comps we offer.
Junior Comps - Saturday
12 years and under – Orange Ball Comp 11.30-1pm
This comp is played on a reduced size court with softer orange balls. Each child gets two serves and an underarm serve if they double fault. Shorter games and sets are played.
- Three kids per team, each playing one singles and two doubles
- Four comps per year (one per school term)

13+ Years Tennis Competition
This competition is designed for older children and those with more advanced tennis skills. It provides a transition to regulation play while accommodating different skill levels within the age group.
Eligibility:
- Children 13 years and older
- Younger players with advanced skills
Court and Rules:
- Full-sized tennis court
- Standard tennis rules apply
Ball Types:
- Lower grades: Green balls
- Higher grades: Yellow balls (standard tennis balls)
This competition is designed for older children and those with more advanced tennis skills. It provides a transition to regulation play while accommodating different skill levels within the age group.

Single Comps
There are up to eight divisions ranging from beginner to advanced. This is a very popular comp as it is an easy format to commit to – 90 minute singles match per week organised at a mutually agreed time and day. Your level will need to be assessed by one of our coaches before you join for the first time so that you can be graded correctly in the comp. Entries close on Sunday, October 22nd. Don’t miss out. You will receive a draw whereby you will be scheduled to play a 90 minute singles match each week (played in the Best of 3 Fast 4 set format). Each week you need to contact your opponent by email or phone to organise a time and a day to play. You then simply contact us at Keirle Park or Manly Tennis Centre to book the court. Four comps per year per school terms.
$185 per player (includes registration, court hire and balls).
Ladies' Doubles - Monday Nights
Two ladies per team
Two comps per year (beginning in February and July/August) – 16 week comp.
You play three sets of doubles, starting at 8:00am.
Matches are on a home and away basis, with you playing one week at Keirle Park Tennis Centre and the next at another centre on the Northern Beaches.

Ladies' Doubles - Wednesday Daytime
Two ladies per team
Two comps per year (beginning in February and July/August) – 16 week comp.
You play three sets of doubles, starting at 9:30am.
Matches are on a home and away basis, with you playing one week at Keirle Park Tennis Centre and the next at another centre on the Northern Beaches.

Two men per team

You play three sets of doubles, starting at 7:30 or 8pm
